This contest gave students a unique opportunity to give to their community. They have made an impact that they will be able to see for a very long time,"

In cooperation with the Stillwater Medical Foundation, McDonald’s of Stillwater sponsored the Healing Through Art Contest. The competition invited Stillwater Public School students to create original artwork to bring awareness to the Stillwater Cancer Center Project. From 75 entries, first and second places were selected by a committee. Finalists of each division were also chosen by the committee to be place online for voting to determine a People’s Choice award. Almost 1,300 votes were cast.

The first place winners each received $100 and chose a teacher to receive a matching award for classroom needs. Bri Ozment of Highland Park Elementary, Crista McCann of Stillwater Middle School, and Susan Yeager of Stillwater Junior High School were selected. Second place received $75, and People’s Choice received $50.
